At the end of the school year, a kindergarten should be able to read with expression and fluency accuracy of 90% of the final Saxon Phonics Regular reader in order to comprehend, summarize and recall information from what they have read with 90% accuracy.

At the end of the school year first graders should be able to read the last Saxon Phonics average reader with 60 words per minute fluency rate and with expression in order to comprehend what they have read.

At the end of the school year, a kindergartener should be able to understand and write legible the numbers 1-100 and be able to problem solve numerical life skills problems.

At the end of the 2010-2011 school year 85% of kindergarteners will be able to reach this math goal.

At the end of the school year first graders should be able to accurately and quickly do story problems and understand the concepts of subtraction and double digit addition with regrouping because they will have mastered their math facts.

Kindergarten Social Emotional Learning Goal:

At the end of the school year, a kindergartener should be able to have the self control of their words and bodies in order to work cooperatively and productively showing respect and empathy for others and themselves.

At the end of the school year first graders should be able to use their BIG VOICE in order to be assertive as well as to identify their emotions, particularly when they are upset in order to self regulate their reactions to their upsets.
